In early August, the awbt CEO Mr. Larry Gould attended the Business Opportunities in Malaysia seminar in Melbourne and took the opportunity to meet with The Hon. Mustapa Mohamed, Minister of International Trade and Industry, Malaysia.
During their informal discussions, Mr. Gould outlined to Minister Mustapa awbt’s activities in Malaysia, in particular –
- the very successful relationship with the Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM) and the launch of the MIM / awbt Work Based Diploma of Management
- awbt training of MIM’s Malaysia based facilitators to Australian standards
- the interest that is being expressed by Malaysian professional associations and organizations in awbt’s L & D offering
- his main platform presentations at the recent conferences and seminars in KL, including the very successful International Automobile Conference
Mr. Gould’s view to the Minister is that Asia will be the biggest consumer of Australian education, VET and RTO services and Malaysia will provide a pivotal and important role for Australian providers.
For awbt, the future in Malaysia will be dedicated to providing the L & D resources at a local and accessible level for Malaysian based businesses to build their capacity and workforce competency from within.
